Brent Stansell is a theatre educator, dramaturg, actor, and solo performance artist. He currently teaches at The George Washington University and American University and as an affiliated teaching artist with the Shakespeare Theatre Company and Round House Theatre. He has also taught at Montgomery College and Brooklyn College, where he completed an MFA in Dramaturgy. As a professional dramaturg, he has worked as a Theatre Curator for the Crown Point Festival in New York and with Moisés Kaufman of Tectonic Theater Project, solo performer Josh Lefkowitz, and Forum Theatre in DC. Brent has worked as an actor at Round House Theatre, Rorschach Theatre, and Ganymede Arts, among others; he is also an alumnus of National Player’s Tour 55 out of the Olney Theatre Center. He recently produced his solo performance piece My Fabulous Sex Life in the 2009 DC Capital Fringe Festival. Brent has also worked at Roundabout Theatre Company and the Kennedy Center. He has a BA in Dramatic Literature and English with honors from The George Washington University.
