Carl Gudenius holds an M.F.A. in Production Design from Wayne State University. In addition to serving as Resident Designer for Horizons Theatre and Interact Theatre, he is Principle Designer for DCP/Design Concept Presentations, LLC. Recent work has included Art Direction/Production Design for C-SPAN studio productions, PBS' productions of Inventing USA, Denyce Graves; A Cathedral Christmas, In Performance at the White House (six seasons): Dance with Savion Glover, In Performance...: Gospel Music with CeeCee Wynan, In Performance...: The Singer and the Song with Patti Lupone, Millennium Project Live from the White House: Jazz. His Scenic and lighting designs have been seen at many Washington theatres including The Kennedy Center, Olney Theatre, MetroStage, Church Street Theatre, Horizons Theatre and Interact Theatre. Design services for a range of industrial projects have included such clients as Acorn Communications, Jack Morton, Production Group International and Ray Block Productions. He is a principal in Pro Stage, Inc., a union production shop that services to a diverse clientele of theatrical and video producers. Recent projects have included Nightline for ABC and Healthweek for PBS. Recently he traveled to China to develop several video projects for DCP and to present a lecture at Beijing University of Theatre.
