I just met with
Jim Osborn and Levi. Jim is an advisor to the LGBTA and Levi is a board
member- both were here when Matthew was murdered. Jim was at the center
of all the attention. He knew Matt, organized Angel Action with Romaine,
knows everyone at the university, and was interviewed consistently by
Moises Kaufman as well as numerous other media outlets. I feel much closer
to everything that happened having talked to him. They were both very
engaging to talk with. I'm surprised with all that Jim has to say and
with the intelligent and colorful way he talks that he's not a character
in The Laramie
Project,
but he says it doesn't bother him. He had enough attention as it is. He
felt very disillusioned by the media, but felt that Tectonic really did
things right and that
The Laramie Project is
a very beautiful and honest piece about Laramie. He had great insights
into what the play was doing and what the movies were doing. |
